If your application is approved, you will be notified of the next step in the examination process (written examination, structured oral examination, or placement on an eligible list) as soon as the examination dates and locations have been scheduled, or as soon as the eligible list is established.

Notification: Email vs. Mail
All communication from Merit System Services (MSS) regarding application, test scheduling, test results, etc. will be sent via email only to candidates who apply online or who provide us with an email address on a paper application. Notification/status information will be emailed to at each step in the recruitment process.

Candidates who apply via a paper application and do not supply us with an email address will continue to receive all recruitment notification via United States Postal Service.
