Colusa County is located in the center of the Sacramento Valley of northern California. Like much of
California, the topography is varied. The 7,000-foot peak of Snow Mountain sits on the County's
western border in the Mendocino National forest. Coming down from the mountain, a traveler passes
world famous wild flowers in the rangelands which cover much of the County's western third. These
foothills ease into the rich, fertile soils of the Valley. The Sacramento River washes the County's
eastern border at an elevation of 30 feet. The County covers 1,155 square miles.
Colusa County offers reasonable housing, as the median value of a home is $68,100. Good soil, abundant
water, and a sunny Mediterranean climate provide an environment that can help you grow anything your
heart desires in your garden or yard.
While the charm of the rural setting of the County provides a relaxed pace of life, varied activities
are found both locally and in nearby metropolitan areas. The County offers tree-shaded parks,
community swimming pools, tennis courts, softball and soccer fields for family enjoyment. Outdoor
recreation centers on the Sacramento River for camping, picnicking, boating, swimming, and fishing.
