Sutter County is situated in the heart of Northern California, about an hour’s drive
north of Sacramento and midway between the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the Pacific
Coast.
Local geography offers fertile valley land where a thriving agricultural
community produces an abundance of fruit, grain and beans. The scenic Sutter Buttes,
known as "the world’s smallest mountain range", rise above the valley floor. Both the
Sacramento and Feather Rivers traverse the county, providing a wealth of recreational
activities, including sport fishing.
Yuba City serves as the county seat and offers a high quality of life to its residents
who enjoy living in a more pastoral, rural setting as opposed to living amidst the hustle
and bustle of a major metropolitan area. Well known as a nice place to raise a family,
residents have also been attracted by Sutter County’s very affordable housing and the
region’s moderate climate.
