Employment Rights Appeals
Employees with permanent status may appeal to the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) if any of the following actions are taken against them:
All employment rights appeals must be filed in writing with CalHR within 30 calendar days from the date the action or notification of action against which the appeal is made. Appeals must state the facts upon which they are based, and the relief requested in sufficient detail to enable CalHR to understand the nature of the proceeding and the parties concerned. Appeals of decisions from selection procedures must be filed in writing with CalHR within 30 calendar days of the date on which notification of the results of the selection process were mailed to the applicant. Please note that notifying or conferring with CPS HR does not extend the time for filing an appeal with CalHR. Your rights may be lost if you fail to file with CalHR within the 30 day time limit. Your appeal should include a description of the facts that support your contention that the selection process was improper.
