1. REGISTER & LOGIN
To register, click on the "Register to Apply Online" link above. You must have a valid personal email address that you can check to retrieve your online password. Ensure that emails from mss@cps.ca.gov (and any other email addresses with the extension of cps.ca.gov) do not go directly to your spam box. Free email accounts can be acquired from many sites such as hotmail.com, yahoo.com, or gmail.com.
If you've already registered (or once you receive your online password), click the "Login" link above to view current openings and/or to view the status of any existing job applications.
2. ENTER OR UPDATE YOUR EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Select the job you are interested in and click on the "Apply" link. Complete your application by following the guided steps. It is your responsibility to provide all education and work experience that demonstrates how you meet the minimum qualifications for the position. All application material must be complete prior to submitting your application to Merit System Services.
As a part of our continuing efforts to be environmentally friendly, all communication from Merit System Services regarding application, test scheduling, test results, etc. will be sent via email only to candidates who apply online or who provide us with an email address on a paper application. Notification/status information will be emailed at each step in the recruitment process.
We will not be able to provide status information via telephone.
Candidates who apply via a paper application and do not supply us with an email address will continue to receive all recruitment notification via United States Postal Service.
